Woman In Yoga Pose Lying On Mat

Do you struggle doing nothing? Maybe you need to shift your Perspective!

I’ve been in a breast implant illness group of 170k women and I saw a post of one woman asking ‘what is everyone doing to pass the time in recovery I’m bored’. Majority of the comments complained about how bored or frustrated they were and how they’re only binge watching series. I wanted to comment to help, then I thought no I’m not here to teach in this space, I’m here to heal now.

But I’ll share with you my community anyway. I thought to myself reading those comments that I’m probably in the 1% that thinks differently than most…but that’s my GREATEST STRENGTH. It can be yours too. Often this time of the year people get forced rest from sickness or sick kids. Sometimes an injury sets you back. Frustration can set in.

𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐟𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧’𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐂𝐀𝐍 𝐃𝐎. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐮𝐬𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐫 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐒𝐎𝐔𝐋 𝐂𝐑𝐀𝐕𝐄𝐒 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐞!

Can I start by saying I’m absolutely loving this time to slow down.

  • I’ve been resting, sleeping heaps and not pushing it because I know in rest it speeds up your recovery and optimises the healing
  • I’m loving not getting up to an alarm and waking up when my body feels ready and not caring about time for a change
  • Watching rom coms or movies Tom hates
  • Meditation and journaling for as long as I want
  • Sitting on the grass in the sun grounding
  • Reading books without rushing
  • Lying on my sun lounge, getting out of my compression bra for 20 mins sunning my boobs ha ha as the sun is one of the best healers
  • Accepting and receiving help and support
  • Sitting in conversations with loved ones not having somewhere to race off to
  • Not wearing makeup or having to get ready to go anywhere and giving my skin time to breathe and soak in all the goodness of my skincare from Delish Skin & Beauty
  • Enjoying the cosiness of my home and winter hibernation
  • Deepening of my love for Tom watching his compassion and care for me on a whole other level as he washes my hair, blow dries my bandages, puts my socks on and tells me how much he loves me and my body regardless and doesn’t care about the superficial size of my breasts

Plus I have so much more to look forward to in the coming weeks:

  • My Sol cleanse detox I ordered for Monday now I’m drug free
  • The accompanying skin detox, dry body brushing, scrub, oil
  • Lymphatic drainage massage
  • Gentle exercise and slow nature walks
  • Diving into courses I have
  • My writing
  • Starting a podcast people have been asking me for
  • Behind the scenes business desires, content creation, course creation
  • Plus more meditation, sleep ins, reading, family time and all those things I love

Actually I won’t want to come back!

I’m really allowing myself to enjoy the nothingness, the so called boredom (if you view it that way) and sitting in the silence. I love sitting on the grass in breath taking mindful moments of awareness, feeling the sun on my skin, the gentle breeze on my face and listening to the sounds of nature or silence, the peace all around.

𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟, 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬. 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐮𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲.

Yes I miss being on the mat, working out, being strong and all the things I love, but I know this is temporary and ‘𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬’. I’ll be back in no time and have new goals to work towards.

So instead of focusing on what you’re missing, what you have to give up, embrace this moment for what it is, because it will pass you by.

On of my biggest mantra’s I always remind myself comes from Wayne Dyer

‘When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change’
