Barre

Combine Pilates, Ballet & Yoga in a fun upbeat workout

What are the benefits of Barre?

"It’s empowering as a woman to get to know your body intimately and develop self awareness"

Lisa Everding, Earthy Angels

Barre

Barre is a unique blend of pilates, ballet and yoga. It integrates the same principles of pilates focusing on core strength, movement with breath, connection, control, focus and flexibility.

Barre is faster paced and a higher intensity than pilates. Combined with some great beats getting your heart rate up with a good hit of low impact cardio.

You will feel the burn in our Barre classes and sculpt your whole body, particularly the legs, glutes and core! You will pulse, lift, circle and hold almost every part of your body and feel the tremble and burn!

Majority of the class is standing and using the Barre for balance, strengthening, toning and flexibility.

We use body weight and equipment. This is followed by core work on the mat and like all of our classes ending with stretching and relaxation.

The perfect blend of fitness, fun and floating out feeling incredible! If you have never practiced Barre you may wish to try Mat Pilates first.

Our teachers always offer you modifications as required. Like any class you go at your own pace and all fitness abilities are welcome.

Earthy Angels Yoga 019

Hi Lisa! I just wanted to say a huge thank you for yesterdays class. I honestly had the best time and haven’t felt this sore ever in my life honestly. But it’s a good sore, means my body worked and I’ll feel better after a couple days. I just had the best time and the vibe was just amazing and it’s so good to be in a zone that is judge free. I can’t wait for more classes!

It's not just about physical fitness, which you certainly get challenged, but it also works on your spiritual and mindfulness as well.. The full package... Absolutely worth a visit and I'm sure after 1 visit you will never want to leave

I have been a member of this Studio for over a year now and its one of my absolute favourite places. It has everything for mind, body and soul. I have loved Pilates and Yoga. Not only have I noticed my body is stronger, but I have also learnt to slow down, which, like a lot of people these days, definitely needed to do! The new Barre classes are amazing. Its such a challenging, all over strength/cardio workout. Its so much fun! I definitely recommend come trying some classes out!

I’ve never done yoga, pilates or barre before?

We are so excited to guide you through these incredible classes. Check out our yoga pilates page and have a read of each class type to give you an idea.

Most importantly don’t worry. It doesn’t matter what fitness level or experience you have our teachers will take care of you. We will give you options so just make sure you advise the teacher if you’re a beginner or if you have any injuries or concerns. We have studio mats to use or EA mats to purchase or you may bring your own. Bring water.

We have so many beginners to classes all the time and our community is loving and supportive and free from judgement.

Like we tell all our members you are on the mat for your practice and your practice only. Everybody just focuses on themselves and there is no expectation to keep up. Take it at your own pace and never be afraid to ask for assistance.

How do we keep the studio clean and hygienic?

We hold very high cleanliness and hygiene standards. The studio is cleaned daily and with flu season around pay particular attention to disinfecting the mats and equipment after each class. There is hand sanitizer and disinfectant hand wash in the bathrooms for you to use. After the class is complete there are spray bottles for you to clean your mat with ease. You are welcome to bring your own mat to class should you prefer. We do ask if you are experiencing cold and flu symptoms to please refrain from attending classes at that time to reduce the risk of exposure to other families, but also for you. It’s important to take time to rest your body and recover to ensure you’re back to your normal health and routine asap.

Whats the minimum age requirement?

Any age can practice yoga or pilates. However you need to be 16 or above to practice in our studio. If you are 13-16 we require that you have an accompanying adult. Any younger would need to participate in a children’s class.

Where do I park?

We are required to use the street parking so we don’t upset other complex owners. Please allow enough time to park and wander up for your class. The 6am and 9:15am classes can get busy on the street. A little 5 min walk is a great way to get your legs warmed up ready for your class. Early morning main complex gates are closed until 6:30am. There is a little pedestrian gate to the very left of the left main gate/driveway.

Are there showers?

Yes they are located downstairs.

Where is the studio located?

We are upstairs right next to and above F45. PARKING IS ON THE STREET so we don’t upset other complex owners. Please allow an extra 5 mins to grab a park and wander up….great warmup!! The street can sometimes get busy for 6am and 9:15am classes mon-fri.

Early morning main complex gates are closed until 6:30am. There is a little pedestrian gate to the very left of the left main gate/driveway.

What is studio etiquette?

Please be punctual and arrive 10 mins prior to class start to allow time to check in and set up your space. Leave your shoes in the shelving provided upstairs, to your right of the studio near the bathroom. Please turn your mobile phone off or on silent. Please respect other students and avoid talking during yoga class. Avoid leaving during relaxation/savasana, if you must quietly leave before savasana begins. Please spray and wipe your studio mat and place it and any equipment back neatly in the racks. Enjoy your class x

What do I wear to class?

Wear something comfortable, practical and has freedom for you to move in. Tights, stretchy pants, singlets, t-shirts or shorts are recommended. We are barefoot in the studio for our classes. Upstairs on your right near the bathroom there is shelving for your shoes and bag.

What do I need to bring to class?

Come to class with an open mind and a touch of curiosity. You may bring water and a small towel if you wish. Mats are provided for you, however feel free to bring your own. We have beautiful quality non slip mats for sale in the studio for your convenience. All equipment is provided.

How much are classes?

We have a number of different options available above depending on your needs. Visit our pricing page to purchase. The most popular and cost effective option is the weekly membership for unlimited classes.

Do I need to book in before coming to a class?

It is recommended that you book to ensure you secure a place in class. Bookings can be made through our pricing page or on the Mind Body app. Please arrive 10 mins prior to class start time. If this is your first class please arrive 15 mins prior for your teacher to meet and find out a little about you and help you settle in. Once your mindbody account is set up it’s quick and easy to simply book into your classes or cancel if you can’t make it. Most people prefer the app for ease.

Can I practice if I’m pregnant?

There are some variables to this question. It depends on your current practice prior to your pregnancy. If you already practice regularly we encourage you to listen to your body and do what feels right for you. You will take full responsibility for your practice. You must advise the teacher of your pregnancy and what trimester you’re in before you practice. It will be up to the teacher’s discretion. We recommend obtaining clearance from your doctor regardless.

As a general rule:

  • If you have NEVER practiced or have practiced very little before your pregnancy, you should practice only prenatal yoga/pilates while pregnant.
  • If you ALREADY had a strong practice before your pregnancy, you may be able to continue a fairly vigorous practice-with modifications-after your first trimester.
  • During the first trimester both beginning and experienced practitioners should only do a gentle practice or none at all, as the fetus is still implanting and the risk of miscarriage is highest.
